Dikai Liu is a distinguished professor and Co-Director of the Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. His main research interest is robotics with the focus on infrastructure robotics, robot teams and physical human-robot collaboration. In addition to conducting fundamental robotics research, Liu has been translating robotics research to practical applications through development of autonomous and collaborative robots that can be deployed in real applications. Examples include an autonomous grit-blasting robot, a bio-inspired autonomous climbing robot, intelligent robotic co-workers, and an autonomous underwater robot for cleaning and inspection of underwater bridge and wharf piles.
