Matthias Scheutz is President and CEO of Thinking Robots, and a professor in computer science at Tufts University where he directs the Human-Robot Interaction Laboratory. He has a unique multi-disciplinary background in computer science, cognitive science, robotics, and human-robot interaction and extensive research experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and integrated robotic systems, including empirical evaluations of robotic systems and human-robot interactions in real environments with over 400 peer-reviewed publications. Scheutz has worked on the cognitive robotic DIARC architecture for over twenty years and received multiple best paper awards at top international conferences for his work on cognitive systems. He has also led many multidisciplinary research projects as the PI and over the last fifteen years been PI and co-PI on various government and industry grants, totaling to over 30M.
