Rachel Emsley, an associate in Finnegan’s Boston office, is an experienced PTAB practitioner. She has represented dozens of patent owners and petitioners in post-grant trials. She focuses her practice on district court litigation, PTAB trials, Federal Circuit appeals, and counseling related to computers, software, medical devices, electronics, business methods and robotics. Emsley is involved in all phases of district court litigation and PTAB (IPR, CBM, and PGR) trials, including strategic analysis, discovery and motion practice, preparing expert reports and pleadings, conducting depositions, and oral hearing and trial preparation. She has been involved in more than 30 PTAB trials. Emsley has extensive experience in the area of business method patents and patent-eligibility jurisprudence. Emsley has experience with a wide range of technologies, including software, communication networks, telecommunications devices, data storage devices and networks, and semiconductors.
