Steve Taub focuses his time on venture investments in the advanced manufacturing space, including areas such as 3D printing, robotics, and “smart manufacturing” software and analytics and was previously part of the Energy Ventures team. His investments include Rethink Robotics, Desktop Metal, Carbon, Optomec, Aras, Virgin Hyperloop One, 1366 Technologies, and Arctic Sand. Taub joined GE in 2006 as Senior Vice President of Investment Strategy at GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of GE Capital. Earlier in his career he created and led the electric power technology research practice at IHS-CERA, and he has also worked at U.S. Department of Energy and Northrup Grumman Corp. Taub earned a master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Technology and Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. Originally from Long Island NY, he has lived in the Boston area since 1997.
