Utsav Patel is CEO and Co-Founder of Inception Robotics, a company developing autonomous robotic systems to automate repetitive workflows in pharmacy operations. Its flagship product, MedSort, is a compact robotic solution designed to automate the sorting of returned medications. By eliminating the tedious and error-prone process of manually inspecting and organizing unit doses, MedSort enables pharmacy technicians to focus on higher-value clinical responsibilities while improving efficiency and accuracy.
Prior to founding Inception Robotics, Utsav was a researcher at the University of Maryland, where he developed deep reinforcement learning–based navigation algorithms for ground mobile robots operating in complex indoor and outdoor environments. He has served as Principal Investigator on more than $2 million in Department of Defense and National Science Foundation grants and contracts, leading the development of software tools aimed at accelerating the deployment of advanced robotic autonomy systems.
MassRobotics is hosting its 5th annual Healthcare Robotics Startup Catalyst.
